Travelling

A message to ladies who are interested in travelling abroad to strange places but are concerned or worried about women travelling alone or in small groups being targeted after hearing frightening stories.

In 2004 year three ladies from our group decided to travel on an overnight trip to see the Taj Mahal, and while in a taxi, they were driven to the outskirts to a dingy clip joint where, only after handing over all the cash they had on them were they then driven back into town. Luckily, they refused to get out of the taxi when the demand for money was made otherwise it could have been a lot worse!

Thankfully most of the people you meet travelling are genuine and fantastic people, young girls funnily enough seem to mix and travel with other groups and also have an aura of self confidence that older women seem to lack when abroad. The odd bad person usually homes in on a lady by herself or a small group because they are considered easy pickings! I am more interested in the people I meet along life's trail that become friends, which thankfully, I can say that I have more than a few.

India and Thailand are popular, but any destination is considered including Europe. General help and guidence to any group of ladies requiring safety and protection of a male travelling companion while travelling to countries where women alone are at risk, also include Tai Chi classe in the mornings on the beach or in the hotel grounds, if required. The cost is generally based around the travel cost and a small retainer, for the travelling escort for small groups while visiting sites and scenes of interest. Please see the Contact page and click Travelling Details to contact us for further details and costs and remember, peace of mind is a lot cheaper than you think.

A Little history to inspire the imagination.
Nigel has in his travels crossed Canada from coast to coast. Travelled from England to China overland on the Trans Siberian railway, led an expedition to the Arctic Circle, traveled across Thailand several times, attempted to climb Everest but did not make it (and is too old to try again), trekked across 700 miles of the Himalayas, listened to the Buddhist monks chanting when going to prayers in Northern Thailand, spent weeks cruising around the Greek Islands followed by a quick trip down the Mekong to visit Cambodia, spent a summer walking in the Alps, and the least but best is, watching the sun go down over Goa many times with a gin sling in one hand, and meeting the friendly faces whenever I go back.
